Most Sundays we have English/ Literacy games in my Nsaka. The children's levels range drastically. Some do not know their alphabet while others surprise me with the words they can read and spell.

Two teachers at the school selling tie dye fabric as a fundraiser for the school's orphans. The profits go towards uniforms, excercise books, and school fees.
The community has already started molding and firing bricks out of riverbed mud. Different villages each take a turn with the work. The bricks are fired in large kilns like this one. After the rains stop they will stary molding and burning again.

Women in the women's group during a sewing workshop. The women's group does all sorts of things, from learning about farming techniques to starting group businesses. I work with them to teach business skills and some craft making skills, as well as working with the chairperson to organize the area clubs.
The students in my English class on Wednesdays are also from this group. We do some literacy excercises too because several of the women stopped school in grades 3 or 4. We are trying to set up a regular session for the women who want to study for their grade 9 or grade 12 exam.
